Robert H. Frank - The Economic Naturalist  - Why Economics Explains Almost Everything
Read by Jeff Harding
Unabridged

Description
This is the Number One "Sunday Times" Bestseller. For years, economist Robert Frank has been encouraging his students to use economics to explain the situations they encounter in everyday life, from peculiar product design to the vagaries of sex appeal. Now he shares the most intriguing questions and the economic principles that answer them to reveal why many of the most puzzling parts of daily life actually make perfect (economic) sense. This recording is unabridged.

Review
"After science, the other gaping hole in my education is economics. Ever since the runaway success of Steven Levitt's Freakonomics five years ago, there has been a rash of books eager to persuade people that economics is cool. This is the latest. Frank, a professor at Cornell University, bases his manual on frequently asked questions from students (not necessarily economics students) and relates his answers to economics. Why are milk cartons rectangular and drinks cans cylindrical? Why is it easier for a guy to pull if he already has a partner? Why are brown eggs more expensive than white ones... But for Jeff Harding's feisty reading, I wouldn't have bothered to find out, but yes... it's fascinating." Sue Arnold, The Guardian (audiobook review) "Fascinating... provides the answers to some of life's quirkiest conundrums." The Daily Mail "Explains how cold, hard cash really does make our world go round." The Independent."
